The Comprehensive Plan is Marquette County's official blueprint for growth, land use, transportation, economic development, and community character. Required under Wisconsin State Statute §66.1001, it provides the legal foundation for county zoning and key land use decisions. This will align with the County’s recently completed Strategic Plan.

Existing plans are an important part of the Comprehensive Plan process. These plans will inform the Comprehensive Plan, and in some cases will be incorporated into the plan if the goals and vision are still consistent with the aspirations of the community today.

The planning process has kicked off and community engagement is ongoing. Plan drafts will be shared in the Fall with a plan adoption goal of December 2026.

Comprehensive plans are shaped by the feedback and needs of the community through survey responses, open houses throughout the process, as well as meetings with county staff.

Look out for posts about public meetings. The News & Updates page will list meeting dates and times throughout the process as they are scheduled. The drafts of the plan will be posted as they are completed. An interactive version will also be posted. We are still in the visioning and restructuring phase.
